Blue Clay Health exists because one family needed it, and found out how many others do too.

Our story

When my son had a stroke at 13, our lives changed overnight. Suddenly we were managing a team of specialists across several hospital systems, and none of them were talking to each other.

We carried his records from appointment to appointment. We repeated his history to every new doctor. We waited months to see the specialists he needed, some of them hundreds of miles away. When their advice conflicted, we were the ones left to sort it out.

I kept thinking: this is the hardest moment in a family's life, and the system expects you to be the coordinator, the record keeper and the referee.

So we built something different. A practice where you choose the specialists you need, wherever they are. Where they work together, from one complete record, on one plan. Where a care navigator handles the logistics, so families can focus on the person they love.

That's Blue Clay Health. It's the care we wish we'd had.

Chris Riley

Founder & Executive Chairman

Chris is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, a former captain of a U.S. Navy warship and a Harvard Business School graduate. He co-founded and led Guzman Energy, which brought affordable renewable energy to rural communities, and is the founder and CEO of Cirtiq, a venture-backed clinical safety technology company. After his son's stroke, he turned that experience of building organizations around hard problems to the one his own family faced.
